The Who – Live At Leeds : Rare 1970 UK first edition 6-track LP with A1/B1 matrices, recorded live at Leeds University on February 14th 1970, housed in the original gatefold ‘bootleg’ style stapled pocket sleeve with BLACK text on the front & complete with all twelve inserts including poster, photos & repro band letters, receipts & lyrics. The cover has a small set of initials in the top right corner [also on the side one label, unobtrusive to the print], otherwise there is only a little light edge scuffing & some minor fading to the spine, & the black print remains strikingly vivid. All twelve inserts are present & correct & appear in fantastic shape & remain unused. The vinyl grades VG with some spindle marks by the centre hole to indicate play & some light hairlines, there is a deep sheen both sides & playback reveals no great loss in fidelity, seeing as this is The Who record where they attempt to outdo Led Zep for sheer volume! A nice, if not mint, copy of a very rare & complete first pressing. £195
Rolling Stones – Their Satanic Majesties Request: Rare 1968 first Japanese issue 10-track deep groove stereo LP, manufactured & imported directly from England with custom made green labels which bear all the hallmarks of a Decca UK press[‘Made In England’ perimeter print, machine stamped ‘ZAL’ matrices in the run-outs] but have the ‘London/FFRR’ export logo at the top. The front laminated gatefold sleeve has the 3D diffraction grating & red flame inner & must be one of the rarest variants to find, also having been made in Britain with the London logo on the back & the ‘NPS2’ catalogue number [not the same printed sleeve as the UK mono/stereo versions]. Includes the all important Japanese/lyric insert printed by the Japanese with the “2,200” yen price & “(c)1968” date. We cannot confirm if this ever came with an obi-strip, it’s so hard to come by even our Japanese buyer was stumped! £195
