Ranked at No. 95 in <I>Rolling Stone’s</I> 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Miles Davis’s Bitches Brew remains one of the most revolutionary records in jazz history. Originally released in 1970, this double album broke new ground by fusing jazz with rock, funk, and avant-garde experimentation, laying the foundation for the genre of jazz-rock fusion. Featuring an ensemble of up to twelve musicians – including Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, Jack DeJohnette, and many more – the sessions captured a radical rejection of traditional jazz structure in favour of sprawling textures, layered improvisation, and electric instrumentation. Its influence resonated far beyond jazz, inspiring generations of rock and funk musicians, and it became the first gold record of Miles’s extraordinary career.
