Latest rare and collectable ’90s vinyl arrivals Christmas gift ideas including Operation Ivy, Pantera, Radiohead and more

While music was more popular during the 90’s than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes almost obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.

We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock and be sure to keep an eye on the latest arrivals at eil.com.

OPERATION IVY Energy (Early 90’s US 19-track vinyl LP, Berkley addressed first pressing with large pressing rings on the labels, complete with lyric insert. Formed in 1987, Operation Ivy are a legendary 4-piece fronted by future Rancid cohorts Tim Armstrong & Matt Freeman; ‘Energy’ was released in January of 1989 and despite the fact the band broke up shortly after the release party, the album went on to go gold and paved the way for many American third wave ska bands. The sleeve remains in its original open shrink and shows just minor signs of shelfwear. The vinyl shows some light cosmetic scuffs, though these do not have any real impact on play. An impressive example of this classic ska punk record!)

PANTERA Vulgar Display Of Power (1992 German-pressed 11-track vinyl LP, the classic sixth studio album from the groove metal specialists, including the anthemic Walk, along with A New Level, This Love and so much more [they’re all flippin’ great!]. Issued in an iconic glossy picture sleeve with lyric inner. The cover displays some light general wear mostly to the edges and has a vintage price sticker still attached, whilst the vinyl shows only light signs of play. A really nice example of this must-have Metal masterpiece!)

RADIOHEAD Pablo Honey (1993 UK 12-track vinyl LP, with ‘COME to FLORIDA’ etched into the run out groove, including Creep & Anyone Can Play Guitar, housed in a glossy picture sleeve with illustrated credits inner. The sleeve and vinyl both grade a wonderful Near Mint PCS7360)
