GENESIS 1970 – 1975 (2008 UK THIRTEEN Disc Box Set, comprising Seven Hybrid SA-CDs [Super Audio CD – playable on all SACD & CD players] bringing together their albums released between 1970 – 1975 plus Six Bonus DVDs featuring the entire worksin superior 5.1 Surround Sound & Stereo, complete with band interviews, live performances & more. All discs come housed within a lavish box set with lift-up lid, a fantastic digibook & a picture sleeve booklet accompanying each album with notesby Richard McPhail [Trespass], David Baddiel [Nursery Cryme], Roger Taylor [Foxtrot], Jeremy Clarkson [Selling England By The Pound] & Tony Robinson [The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway]. The packaging shows minimal wear, the discs housed in tight card packaging exhibit some light paper scuffs not affecting play due to the design, whilst the discs housed in double album jewel cases are Near Mint. A collectable in demand set).
GENTLE GIANT Octopus (1972 UK first press Vertigo ‘swirl’ label 8-track LP, the formidable fourth album which marked the last involvement of eldest Shulman brother Phil & the first outing for third drummer John Weathers who stayed with the band thereafter, engineered by Martin Rushent [T-Rex, Yes, Buzzcocks, Stranglers], this is a cult classic among prog fans. Includes the brain-melting complexity of ‘Knots’, full of interlocking vocal harmonies wedded to bold symphonic rock sounds. The gatefold sleeve is a classic Roger Dean design & complete with the die-cut swirl inner. The cover is Excellent with the lightest signs of shelf/ringwear, however the vinyl is super clean with barely a hint of play. Highly recommended).
