While music was more popular during the 90’s than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes almost obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock and be sure to keep an eye on the latest arrivals at eil.com.
PAUL WELLER Stanley Road (Rare and classic 1995 UK limited edition 12-track vinyl LP including The Changingman, You Do Something To Me and Broken Stones. The hype stickered gatefold picture sleeve has an internal pocket complete with illustrated lyric inner and rare bonus 16-page ‘Excerpts’ booklet. The sleeve is in Excellent condition with a little corner/edge wear. While the vinyl reveals one or two light cosmetic hairline paper marks and very little evidence of play!).
RIDE Nowhere (1990 UK first press 8-track vinyl LP on Creation Records with ‘A Porky Primecut’ etched in the run-out, housed in the original fully textured sleeve with embossed artist name & title plus album credits inner. The sleeve is Excellent with minor edgewear and a little sticker residue in the top right corner and some foxing on the reverse, whilst the vinyl appears barely played CRELP074)1.
OASIS The Masterplan (Rare original 1998 UK 14-track double vinyl LP with ‘MIKE’S THE EXCHANGE DMM’ hand scratched in the run-out groove all four sides, including the classic title track, Acquiesce and Stay Young. Complete with thick card illustrated lyric inners, and housed in a hype-stickered gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve displays minimal wear and the vinyl shows only a few paper scuffs from being taken in and out of the inner for over 25 years in the wild. Excellent example of this hard to find original pressing CRELP241).
