Well, in a nutshell, it’s an audio format pressed to help enhance the sound quality, be that on vinyl or Compact Disc.
The idea being the heavier the vinyl pressing, the better. There have been pressings released from 120 up to 200 Gram in weight, usually the 200 Gram will play at 45rpm providing a better audio experience, instead of the standard 33 1/3rpm.
Compact Discs have various different formats, gold was used in the earlier pressing as it supposedly provided a better a clearer sound reproduction.
Mobile Fidelity are known for being one of the leaders in producing vinyl and CDs of an audiophile grade, with the original releases now highly collectable.
We now have Super Audio CDs, SHM-CD providing a high-fidelity-audio, Blu-Spec CDs using Blu-ray technology, along with DVD-Audio using DVD technology, both providing surround sound audio.

Each album in their own single pocket picture sleeve replicating the original release, except, I’m a Rainbow, which is a gatefold sleeve and first time release on vinyl, all housed in a metalic heavy card slipcase style picture box with a 40-page booklet with all the liner notes, facsimile partial music sheet of ‘St Of Indy’ (the track “State Of Independence”), and 12″ square print of the album artwork. The box shows only a little wear, and the vinyl remains in a ‘near mint’ condition).ABBA Voulez-Vous (2019 UK/EU limited edition ‘Back To Black’ Half Speed Mastered double LP issue of their classic 10-track 1979 sixth studio album now pressed on Audiophile quality 180gram Heavyweight Vinyl, including the singlesChiquitita, Does Your Mother Know, Voulez-Vous / Angeleyes and I Have A Dream.
