The advent of CD’s seemed like the death knell for vinyl during the ‘90s. That was only made worse by file sharing becoming popular as the decade came to a close and edged into the early ‘00s. We now know that vinyl would have an unprecedented resurgence in later years, which has led to collectors desperately seeking out original pressings from the ‘90s. Those rare Creation records pressings that shaped alternative music as we know it today, the rare pressings of iconic grunge records that are white whales for many, and weird and wonderful electronic music are always popular with completists.
Finding original ‘90s pressings is hard for anyone, ourselves included, but it does happen, and we have great stock of some rarities over at eil.com now.
LED ZEPPELIN Remasters (1990 UK 24-track triple vinyl LP compilation set manufactured in Germany, digitally remastered by Jimmy Page and George Marino at Sterling Sound, New York, in May 1990, tri-fold glossy picture sleeve. The sleeve on thisexample has only minor edgewear and corner scuffs, whilst the vinyl is in near as new condition. An excellent example of this pressing over thirty-years on ZEP1).
IRON MAIDEN No Prayer For The Dying (1990 UK first press 10-track LP, with A-1U/B-1U matrices, the eighth studio album from the British heavy metal group & first to feature Janick Gers, including Tail Gunner & the number one single, Bring Your Daughter… To The Slaughter, complete with illustrated lyric inner, picture sleve with Derek Riggs’ artwork featuring Eddie bursting from his grave & grabbing a grave-digger by the neck, which was later replaced with just Eddie. The sleeve displays minimal wear whilst and the vinyl remains in a ‘near as new’ condition, a stunning example EMD1017).
WASP Still Not Black Enough (1995 UK limited edition 10-track vinyl LP, the sixth studio album housed in a gatefold numbered picture sleeve from the legendary American metal band. The sleeve shows some light edge wear wear whilst the vinyl grades Excellent with minimal signs of play. A stunning copy of this now hard to find pressing! RAWLP103)
