What is an audiophile pressing?
Well, in a nutshell, it’s an audio format pressed to help enhance the sound quality, be that on vinyl or Compact Disc.
The idea being the heavier the vinyl pressing, the better. There have been pressings released from 120 up to 200 Gram in weight, usually the 200 Gram will play at 45rpm providing a better audio experience, instead of the standard 33 1/3rpm.
Compact Discs have various different formats, gold was used in the earlier pressing as it supposedly provided a better a clearer sound reproduction.
Mobile Fidelity are known for being one of the leaders in producing vinyl and CDs of an audiophile grade, with the original releases now highly collectable.
We now have Super Audio CDs, SHM-CD providing a high-fidelity-audio, Blu-Spec CDs using Blu-ray technology, along with DVD-Audio using DVD technology, both providing surround sound audio.

An absolute gem of a release and highly recommended).
RUSH Signals Signals (Rare 1994 US Mobile Fidelity Original Master Recording 8-track remastered Gold CD issue of their 1982 ninth studio album, as part of the ‘Original Master Recording, Ultradisc II’ series, including the singles New World Man, Subdivisions and Countdown. The disc looks barely played issued in the special jewel case complete with the picture / lyric booklet inlay).
SOUNDGARDEN Superunknown (2014 UK 16-track remastered double LP set pressed on Audiophile quality 180 Gram Heavyweight Vinyl. Issued to celebrates the 20th Anniversary of this groundbreaking album originally released in 1994, includingthe singles Spoonman, The Day I Tried to Live, Black Hole Sun, My Wave and Fell on Black Days. Housed in a gatefold picture sleeve with newly reimagined album artwork designed by Josh Graham with a 12-page booklet featuring liner notes by DavidFricke. The sleeve has a little light edgewear, whilst the vinyl remains in near mint condition).
ANDERSON BRUFORD WAKEMAN HOWE Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe (2019 Japanese exclusive limited edition 12-track remastered Blu-Spec CD reissue of the 1989 one & only studio album from the progressive Yes offshoot, including the singles Brother Of Mine, Order Of The Universe & I’m Alive plus the bonus recordings Birthright [Live Version], Vultures In The City and I’m Alive [Remix Single Version]. The disc comes issued in the gatefold picture sleeve with a replicalyric inner and fold-out Japanese insert plus obi-strip and custom-stickered outer resealable bag).
MUSE Will Of The People (2022 Japanese exclusive limited edition 10-track Blu-Spec CD album [an audio Compact Disc format using Blu-Ray technology, playable on all CD players]. Their self-produced ninth studio album, including the singles Won’t Stand Down, Compliance, Kill Or Be Killed, You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween and the title track. This exclusive issue from Japan also includes a 3-track NTSC DVD featuring the promo videos for the singles, housed in a thin double case with picture sleeve, lyrics, outer card picture slipcase and obi-strip. This is in a brand-new ‘shop bought condition’ still in the ‘New Music Friday’ stickered unopened re-sealable bag. But that is not all, this also includes a circular custom printed card coaster, exclusive to HMV Stores in Japan SICX30146).
