Autographed collectables at eil.com, this week include Status Quo, Siouxsie & The Banshees, ZZ-Top & more

What is an autograph?

From Wikipedia, an autograph is a person’s own handwriting or signature. The word autograph comes from Ancient Greek (αὐτός, autós, “self” and γράφω, gráphō, “write”), and can mean more specifically a manuscript written by the author of its content, or a celebrity’s handwritten signature.

Here at eil.com & 991.com we pride ourselves on being able to find the finest signed collectables available. From Iron Maiden to John Lennon, Elvis Costello, Freddie Mercury and Madonna, we have an amazing selection of 100% fully authenticated signed items, all of which come complete with a certificate of authenticity.

We have something for everyone, please check our specialist Autograph collectors store.

SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES Melt (Autographed 1982 UK 3-track 12″ vinyl single, housed in a Rocking Russian/Gill Thompson designed picture sleeve. The sleeve has been clearly signed on the front in blue point pen by Siouxsie, Steve Severin and Budgie. The sleeve and vinyl are both in near mint condition – highly recommended POSPX539).

SLAYER / ANTHRAX Signed Jacket (If you are a fan of either band then this is the item for you, what we have is a stereotypical mid 1980s ladies small sized black leather jacket, I can hear you saying what makes this special, well the previous owner was a huge metal fan and went to many shows. This has been signed by the full Slayer & Anthrax line-ups along with Megadeth’s guitarist Jeff Young, all in silver marker pen across the back)

ZZ TOP Tejas (1980 German 10-track LP, the fifth album by the American blues rock band originally released in 1976, housed in the luxury tri-fold picture sleeve with illustrated lyric inner. Each picture on the inside of the tri-fold sleeve has been carefully signed by Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard and Dusty Hill! Also included with this rare package are two ticket stubs from the band’s performance at Hammersmith Odeon on 28th November, 1983. The sleeve shows some minor edgewear, whilst the vinyl looks barely played WB56605).

TERRY REID Seed Of Memory Framed Display (Nice display featuring the ‘Seed Of Memory’ CD & Booklet, together with an AUTOGRAPHED photo and set of lyrics, all mounted in a frame. This display was apparently put together by Terry Reid’s daughter for a friend and is therefore unique).

STATUS QUO Hello! (Fully Autographed 1973 UK first press 8-track LP on the Vertigo ‘spaceship’ label, including the classic Quo tunes ‘Roll Over Lay Down’ & ‘Caroline’. Comes housed in the original silver embossed picture sleeve complete with the lyric inner & rare 32″ x 22″ fold-out poster. Obtained from an avid Quo fan who followed the group on their UK tours each year, the front cover is fully signed by the album’s original line-up of Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster & John Coghlan in black biro. The sleeve is in Very Good condition with edge scuffing & creasing, yet all four signatures are unhurried & sit neatly above the silhouette image of each band member. Due to the black on black design, some tilting of the cover is necessary to admire these period signatures – we are also including a bonus copy of the original cover in Excellent condition for comparison. It’s hard to find a full set of original Quo autographs now, with both Rick & Alan sadly no longer with us. What’s more, the poster is unused & the vinyl is clean & in Excellent condition with just a few faint paper hairlines to show play. One for the keen collector).
