What is an audiophile pressing?
Well, in a nutshell, it’s an audio format pressed to help enhance the sound quality, be that on vinyl or Compact Disc.
The idea being the heavier the vinyl pressing, the better. There have been pressings released from 120 up to 200 Gram in weight, usually the 200 Gram will play at 45rpm providing a better audio experience, instead of the standard 33 1/3rpm.
Compact Discs have various different formats, gold was used in the earlier pressing as it supposedly provided a better a clearer sound reproduction.
Mobile Fidelity are known for being one of the leaders in producing vinyl and CDs of an audiophile grade, with the original releases now highly collectable.
We now have Super Audio CDs, SHM-CD providing a high-fidelity-audio, Blu-Spec CDs using Blu-ray technology, along with DVD-Audio using DVD technology, both providing surround sound audio.

MARILLION Afraid Of Sunlight (2020 UK limited edition 8-track double LP pressed on 180gram Heavyweight Vinyl, featuring Michael Hunter’s brand new 2019 remix of their 1995 eighth studio album which includes the single Beautiful. Both vinyl discs are UNPLAYED and comes housed in the gatefold picture sleeve which displays alternate artwork. Although not sealed this copy is still in its open shrinkwrap and in ‘as new’ condition).
