The self-titled album from Affinity is a monster rare archive quality 1970 first UK issue 7-track stereo LP, on the large ‘swirl’ label with Vertigo lettering below the centre hole, housed in the Keef designed matt gatefold picture sleeve with the original ‘0470’ dated ‘swirl’ poly inner. One of the best album Vertigo rarities out there & a must-own for the British Prog fan.
This fantastic album is best described as a cross between The Trinity & Jefferson Airplane, with Linda Hoyle’s vocals crossing from Jools to Grace Slick at various points in the album. Ably abetted by Mo Foster on Bass, Mike Jupp on Guitar, Lynton Naiff on Keyboards & Grant Serpell on drums. The combination of extraordinary vocals, grinding guitar & swirling Hammond make this a classic of its genre.
The sleeve on this copy has somehow survived for more than 50 years with nothing more than some minor corner bumps and remains in near mint condition.
The vinyl is a clean, future investment grade copy. Upon professionally cleaning and play testing, this monster rarity sounds phenomenal. Aside from only a few faint marks where the vinyl has reacted with the poly-lined inner when held in the light, it remains in staggering condition. It is a near mint example of this impossible to find original. We are highly unlikely to repeat this one any time soon and it is only the third original copy we’ve ever seen here in 30 years
