Everyone has those expensive treats the like to enjoy from time to time, and as record collectors we tend to have more than most. Given they can’t just be found anywhere on any given day, there’s a lot of excitement in finding those holy grail and white whale items. We can help you find the records you’ve been desperately searching for with the high-end collectors’ items we come across.
Below are some hand-picked highlights from our constantly rotating stock, and you can see all our premium rarities over at eil.com.
THE DOORS L.A. Woman (1971 UK first press 10-track stereo LP, housed in the original embossed die-cut rounded picture sleeve with printed clear plastic window and yellow ‘crucifixion’ picture inner. The sleeve [VG] has some notable indentations and scuff marks on the reverse and a name annotation to the reverse; the inner has a two seam splits; whilst the vinyl grades as EX/EX+ with few signs of play. Recommended K42090).
BRENDAN PERRY Ark (Rare 2011 UK limited edition 8-track LP pressed on 180 gram vinyl – as one half of Dead Can Dance for nearly three decades, Brendan’s music has been heard by fans around the world. Recorded in his own studio in Ireland, ‘Ark’ is a truly solo album, Brendan playing every instrument, writing all the lyrics and being the sole creative force across the eight tracks. Housed in a gatefold picture sleeve with illustrated credits inners. The sleeve has just a small indentation at the bottom of the spine, otherwise the sleeve shows minimal wear and the vinyl looks barely played VIN180LP040).
ERIC CLAPTON Eric Clapton & His Band (Rare 1979 Japanese 40-page tour programme, measuring 14″ x 10″ in size, including many live and archive photographs, Japanese biography information and a message from Eric to ‘the Japanese People’. Apart from one light crease to the bottom right corner this example is in a well-preserved condition over forty years on. This copy also includes a ticket stub for his show on the 3rd December at the Budokan in Tokyo, along with two rare double sidedflyers for the tour).
