While music was more popular during the 90’s than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes almost obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock and be sure to keep an eye on the latest arrivals at eil.com.
WORLD PARTY Goodbye Jumbo (1990 UK 12-track vinyl LP including Way Down Now and Put The Message Back In The Box, the Grammy nominated second studio album from the band, with guest appearances from Sinead O’Connor and former members of The Waterboys, complete with illustrated lyric inner & glossy picture sleeve. The sleeve displays minimal wear & the vinyl is Near Mint CHEN10).
QUEEN Made In Heaven (Rare 1995 UK limited edition 11-track LP pressed on heavyweight Cream Vinyl with picture labels, featuring a slightly different version to the CD release, complete with original glossy lyric inner and three fold-out posters & glossy gatefold picture sleeve. The inner on this example has a misprint, the title for the song ‘Heaven For Everyone’ is missing and has some of the lyrics printed at the end of the previous song, I Was Born To Love You. The sleeve shows light edge general wear, the inner is free from creases or splits, the posters remain unused and the vinyl remains ‘near as new’. A really nice example PCSD167).
PRINCE Graffiti Bridge (1990 UK issue German-pressed 17-track double vinyl LP, his twelfth studio album and the soundtrack to the film of the same name, featuring guest appearances from Tevin Campbell, Mavis Staples & The Time, housed in a single pocket picture sleeve complete with illustrated inners. The sleeve displays just a little wear, the inners have no splits or rips and the vinyl looks barely played, an outstanding example WX361).
