The advent of CD’s seemed like the death knell for vinyl during the ‘90s. That was only made worse by file sharing becoming popular as the decade came to a close and edged into the early ‘00s. We now know that vinyl would have an unprecedented resurgence in later years, which has led to collectors desperately seeking out original pressings from the ‘90s. Those rare Creation records pressings that shaped alternative music as we know it today, the rare pressings of iconic grunge records that are white whales for many, and weird and wonderful electronic music are always popular with completists.
Finding original ‘90s pressings is hard for anyone, ourselves included, but it does happen, and we have great stock of some rarities over at eil.com now.
TORI AMOS Under The Pink (1994 US special limited edition 12-track LP pressed on Pink Vinyl, the second studio album by the singer-songwriter including Pretty Good Year, God and Cornflake Girl, single pocket picture sleeve with lyrics on the reverse. The sleeve displays minimal wear whilst the vinyl shows little signs of play).
MANIC STREET PREACHERS Generation Terrorists (Original 1992 UK limited edition 18-track double vinyl LP, hype stickered gatefold picture sleeve with picture/lyric inners. The sleeve has some light edgewear and a little general storage wear, whilst the vinyl appears barley played – a great example).
MOTLEY CRUE Decade Of Decadence ’81-’91 (1991 German 15-track double vinyl LP, the first of many greatest hit compilations with a twist, featuring remixes, unreleased live songs & new material, housed in a glossy single pocket picture sleeve with lyric inners & bonus poster. One of the inners has a small seam split, otherwise this copy remains in near mint condition).
