PAUL GONSALVES QUARTET Boom-Jackie-Boom-Chick (2006 Japanese limited edition issue of the super limited 1964 8-track mono LP pressed on 200gram vinyl, replicating the original Vocalion label design, laminated flipback sleeve and album notes down to a tee. You can always rely on attention to detail with the Japanese and this is a beautifully remastered edition at a fraction of the cost of an original. The sound quality is glorious and worth it alone for the opening title track, which is an absolute knockout! Complete with Japanese text insert and obi-strip. Now scarce and in demand itself, both sleeve and vinyl are in near mint condition UCJU-9058)
CURTIS COUNCE QUINTET Exploring The Future (Scarce 1970 US issue of the legendary 1958 8-track LP on the red Dootone label, also featuring Harold Land, Frank Butler, Elmo Hope & Rolf Ericson, pasted picture sleeve. The sleeve shows very littleof its age, with the reverse still a glorious off-white with no seam splits and the vinyl appears barely played – a real standout copy! DTL247).
MILES DAVIS The Best Of Miles Davis (Early 60s Japanese-only 6-track deep groove stereo LP compilation on the ‘fireworks’ Prestige label manufactured by Victor, housed in a fully silk laminated picture sleeve with scalloped flipbacks & obi-strip.This is a nice archive copy for the collector, with the packaging & the vinyl appearing Near Mint SMJ-7207).
