For anyone who collects vinyl, we know that some of the most highly wanted pressings tend to be those classed as Audiophile.
Those with the best hi-fi equipment will always want the best quality sounding pressing available, be that high quality 180 gram or heavier vinyl, CD’s, Super Audio CD’s, SHM-CD’s, DVD-Audio Discs and more, from companies like DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Nautilus, Nexus, Simply Vinyl or Nimbus.
AUDIOPHILE VINYL
‘True Fidelity’ vinyl is perhaps the ultimate format for the audiophile. Issues are taken from original master tapes for pure ‘as intended sound’, and production techniques such as half-speed mastering, quadraphonic sound and special formulated virgin vinyl are common in most audiophile releases.
There are many labels who issue audiophile recordings, but only a few specialize in it. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) have a variety of series including ‘Original Master Recordings’
[OMR] and ‘Ultra High-Quality Recordings’ [UHQR]. Other important audiophile labels include Nautilus, Direct-Disk Labs, Sheffield Lab and Wilson Audio.
AUDIOPHILE COMPACT DISCS
With the development of the compact disc so typically came the development of its audiophile counterpart. Again, there are specialist labels, there are varying techniques (gold discs, layered discs, high-density discs) and there are varying opinions on the listening pleasure! But we’re here to bring all those quandaries together.

The vinyl is UNPLAYED, housed in a gatefold picture sleeve which is factory sealed from new in the Hype-Stickered shrink DEMREC540).

THE SMITHEREENS B-Sides The Beatles (2018 US Record Store Day ‘Black Friday’ exclusive limited edition 12-track LP pressed on Audiophile quality 180 Gram Yellow & Orange Marble Vinyl, picture sleeve with printed inner containing liner notes and credits. The vinyl remains UNPLAYED, and factory sealed from new in the hype-stickered shrink EOM-LP-46053).

DAVID BOWIE Who Can I Be Now? [1974-1976] (Scarce 2016 UK limited edition 104-track remastered 13-LP box set pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Comprises the albums Diamond Dogs, David Live [Original Mix – 2-LP set], David Live [2005 Mix – 3-LPset), The Gouster [previously unreleased as an album], Young Americans, Station To Station, Station To Station [Harry Maslin 2010 mix], Live Nassau Coliseum ’76 [2-LP set] and Re:Call 2 [single versions and non album B-sides]. Also includes abeautiful 84 page companion book which includes previously unpublished photographs. Housed in a 13″ x 12.5″ x 3″ picture box with contents insert and still sealed, and within in the original card mailer box DBXL2).

GAME OF THRONES Series 7 (2017 UK/EU Limited Edition 26-track Double LP pressed on Audiophile quality 180 gram Multi-Coloured Vinyl, featuring Ramin Djawadi’s original music score for the seventh series of the American fantasy drama television series based on George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels. All the vinyl discs are in UNPLAYED condition housed within the gatefold picture sleeve which is individually numbered on the back, sealed in the hype-stickered sticker shrink).

ELLA FITZGERALD Sings The Cole Porter Song Book (2015 Spanish pressed UK & European Limited Edition Direct Metal Mastered issue of her 1956 32-track double LP now pressed on Audiophile quality 180gram Heavyweight Virgin Vinyl. The albumfinds Ella accompanied by a studio orchestra conducted & arranged by Buddy Bregman and focusing on the songs of Cole Porter. The gatefold picture sleeve has extensive sleevenotes printed across the inside and the two vinyl discs look barely played).

GRACE JONES Warm Leatherette (Sealed 2016 EU/Italian-pressed Special Edition 27-track FOUR LP set on 180 gram Vinyl comprising a digitally remastered version of her fourth studio album first released in 1980, plus a collection of alternate versions & remixes. All four discs are housed in a sealed 12.5″ x 12.5″ x 1″ leather-effect clamshell picture sleeve with wraparound tracklist insert & 12″ picture booklet).
