It’s strange to think that out there in the world there are U2 branded disco balls, miniature toy cars emblazoned with Madonna’s logo, or even prophylactics from dutch metal band, Hammerfall. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the memorabilia that record companies have produced to help promote artists on their roster, and if you are looking for that interesting piece to add to your collection then you have come to the right place.
We’ve picked out a few of the rare and interesting highlights we have in stock, and you can find the full catalogue of what’s available over at eil.com
THE BEATLES Anthology 2 (1996 original UK Apple promo poster for the Anthology 2 album, art direction & design by Richard Ward and excerpt from cover concept image by Klaus Voormann. Measuring approximately 32″ x 23″ this near perfect example has never been used and remains in pristine condition. A striking image worthy of framing & display).
FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD Welcome To The Concertdome In Germany ’85 (1985 original German 46″ x 36″ promotional-only fly poster to announce their show at Dusseldorf Philipshalle on the 16th April 1985. This stunning poster features the ‘two bodies’ illustrated image from ‘Relax’ by artist Anne Yvonne Gilbert. This poster has never been displayed and remains in pristine condition. A rare survivor indeed as most would have been pasted to walls and hoardings 35 years ago…!).
OASIS All Around The World (1997 original UK promo-only billboard poster, measuring a sizeable 60″ x 40″ – art direction/design by Brian Cannon / Microdot and photography by Michael Spencer Jones. This rare surviving example remains unused, in near mint condition. These giant-sized original billboard posters look particularly impressive when framed and with the advances in acrylic glazing they’re even more affordable to do…!).
