The self titled album by Skin Alley is a mega rare 1969 UK 1st press stereo 9-track vinyl LP with A1/B1 matrices, plain orange CBS label, picture sleeve complete with company catalogue inner.
The West London quartet were regulars on the late ’60s free party/festival circuit, sharing the same management as High Tide, The Trees and Hawkwind – it’s an ‘ahead-of-the-curve’ debut longplayer, blending prog/rock with heavy jazz ‘n’ blues influences, top playing throughout from sax/flute player Bob James and keyboardist Krzysztof Juskiewicz.
The album went largely unnoticed by the record buying public and sold in tiny quantities and is now hugely sought after. The matt picture sleeve has some light edge scuffing, some minor ringwear and some age discolouration, nothing excessive and remains free of any unsightly rips, tears, writing etc. The vinyl is superb, just a couple of very faint paper scuffs/hairlines visible when held under strong light and appears barely played.
A top ’60s collectible and the first copy we’ve ever offered for sale in over thirty years trading, pheew!
