Beloved drummer and multi-instrumentalist, Bill Rieflin, has sadly passed away aged 59.
One of many bands that Rieflin worked with was King Crimson, and their founder Robert Fripp confirmed the news in the following Facebook post:
“Bill Rieflin flew from this world c. 18.50 Pacific, 18.50 UK,” Fripp said after receiving a phone call confirming Rieflin’s death. He added, “Fly well, Brother Bill! My life is immeasurably richer for knowing you.”
Rieflin was also famous for his work with a number of industrial bands during the ’90s, including Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Revolting Cocks and Swans. He also toured and worked with other bands and artists such as R.E.M, Chris Cornell, Peter Murphy and many more.
