We have some high end jazz rarities and new arrivals this week from Ike Quebec, Neil Ardley and Keith Tippet.
Below are just some of the highlights, and you can see the full catalogue over at our Jazz Collectors Store.
IKE QUEBEC The Complete Blue Note 45 Sessions Of Ike Quebec (Limited 1987 US mail order only audiophile 26-track 3-LP box set, compiling the entire 45 sessions on Blue Note recorded between 1959 to 1962. Housed in a beautifully presented textured outer box with pasted cover and individually numbered 16-page booklet. The box shows minimal wear, the booklet free from creases and the vinyl Near Mint – wonderful MD5-118)
NEIL ARDLEY / IAN CARR / MIKE GIBBS / STAN TRACEY Will Power – A Shakespeare Birthday Celebration In Music (Rare 1975 UK 8-track double LP recorded at Southwark Cathedral on April 27th 1974 in association with the Arts Council of Great Britain. A set of ambitious ensemble pieces that highlight the progressive nature of jazz in Britain at the time, including flourishes of electronics, vocals from Norma Winstone & top class musicianship from Gordon Beck, Tony Coe, Tony Levin, Kenny Wheeler and more, front laminated gatefold picture sleeve ZDA164/5)
KEITH TIPPETT Dedicated To You But You Weren’t Listening (Very rare original 1971 UK first press 7-track stereo LP on the large Vertigo ‘swirl’ label, with machine stamped 1Y/1/2Y/1 matrices in the run-outs. Includes Robert Wyatt on drums & comes housed in a Roger Dean designed gatefold picture sleeve complete with the original die-cut swirl inner. The sleeve has just a few points of edge scuffing at the bottom and a little rubbing to the print around the edges, leaving it a respectable Excellent, whilst the vinyl shows a few light cosmetic marks to Side 2, possible due to the poly-lined inner, with just a few light spindle marks to indicate play leaving it Excellent).
