Handbills and flyers, and instore magazines, are an interesting addition to any music collection and most typically these were to be found in Japan. Generally handed out from record stores retailing gig tickets and who often had free licence to print their own – if the label or tour promoter did not provide them directly – they’re unique and interesting carrying images or photography not featured elsewhere. They are something of a cult collectable, perfect for framing and display, and of course uniquely interesting if you were lucky enough to see the artist or band perform in that city.

SIMPLE MINDS Live in Osaka – Rare original 1984 Japanese promo double sided handbill flyer, produced to promote his tour dates in Japan, measuring approximately 10″ x 7″ in size, featuring a great image of the band with details about the concert. The back has some text along with another great image, and details for four albums. Also includes a textured ticket for the show on the 12th August, printed with groups name. A fantastic item, and the first we have ever seen
ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK/THE CURE/INXS Live in Osaka – Rare original 1984 Japanese promo single sided handbill flyer, produced to promote the groups tour dates in Japan, measuring approximately 10″ x 7″ in size, also features details for other artists including Inxs, Moving Pictures and The Cure. Also includes a ticket for the show on the 1st September, which features the groups logo and full name.
THE STRANGLERS Live in Osaka – Extremely Rare original 1979 Japanese promotional only 7″ x 5″ handbill for their show in Osaka on 14th February 1979, during their first tour of Japan. The single-sided black and white flyer shows a 4″ x 3½” image of the ‘Black & White’ album artwork with Japanese text concert details. Also includes a black and white ticket stub printed on textured paper stock for the same gig. Incredibly, the handbill and ticket are both in immaculate condition
GENESIS Live in Osaka – rare original 1978 Japanese promo double sided handbill flyer, produced to promote the groups dates in Japan on the ‘And Then There Were Three… Tour’, measuring approximately 8½” x 6″ in size, featuring a great image ofthe band across the middle with tour dates and an image of them on stage at the top, and an advert for Maxwell Blendy coffee at the bottom. The back has some text and another image of them on stage and details about the studio album and Seconds Out live release. Also includes a ticket for the show on the 30th November, which features the band name logo. A fantastic item, and the first we have ever seen
