The weeks Christmas Ideas: New Audiophile collectables at, includes Rolling Stones, U2, Jack White & more

What is an audiophile pressing?

Well, in a nut shell, it’s an audio format pressed to help enhance the sound quality, be that on vinyl or Compact Disc.

The idea being the heavier the vinyl pressing, the better. There have been pressings released from 120 up to 200 Gram in weight, usually the 200 Gram will play at 45rpm providing a better audio experience, instead of the standard 33 1/3rpm.

Compact Discs have various different formats, gold was used in the earlier pressing as it supposedly provided a better a clearer sound reproduction.

Mobile Fidelity are known for being one of the leaders in producing vinyl and CDs of an audiophile grade, with the original releases now highly collectable.

We now have Super Audio CDs, SHM-CD providing a high-fidelity-audio, Blu-Spec CDs using Blu-ray technology, along with DVD-Audio using DVD technology, both providing surround sound audio.

Here at we have a nice range of Audiophile pressings to suit everyone’s taste and pockets, and find more ideas across all formats and genres in our Christmas Store.
