Ozzy Osbourne to release 12th solo album in January 2020

Ozzy Osbourne will release his first solo studio album in almost a decade in January 2020.

The Black Sabbath legend’s wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, recently appeared on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show to give an update on Ozzy’s health after his serious fall in April.

Earlier this month, Ozzy postponed his UK and European tour in early 2020 for a second time as his recovery from the fall and subsequent surgery on his neck is “taking a little bit longer than everyone thought it would.”

Asked how Ozzy is recovering from his series of health setbacks, Sharon told SiriusXM: “He’s getting there. He had a very, very bad accident this year, but he’s getting there. He’s just finished an album, and the album is coming out in January. And he’s doing good.

“He’s very excited about the duet he did with (rapper) Post (Malone) and also Travis Scott. It’s doing great. It’s at Top 40 radio, and it’s climbing up every week. It’s doing good.”

Asked if Ozzy’s “spirits are okay,” Sharon repsonded: “Now they are. Now he’s done his album, and it’s coming out, and everybody’s really pumped about it. He’s happy. He is.”

Sharon also reiterated that Ozzy is still planning to complete his No More Tours 2, saying: “He has another year and a half to do. And these kids have held on to their tickets )for the postponed shows) for over a year. And he’s gonna go back and he’s gonna fulfil that commitment — he’s gonna play those shows. And he’s not totally retiring, but the touring — he won’t do any more touring.”

Although the follow-up to June 2010’s ‘Scream’ is yet to be titled, Ozzy joked to Rolling Stone in August he’s going to call it ‘Recuperation’.

He explained that the album, which is tentatively set to feature nine tracks, helped to keep him occupied and distracted during his dire year.

“The most depressing thing I’ve been thinking is, ‘Am I gonna walk properly again? Am I gonna be able to perform again?’” Ozzy said two months ago.

“I thought, ‘Well, if I just lay there watching fucking World at War again, I’m not gonna f—ing do anything. So do what you can, even if it’s a little, just so you’re doing stuff … I don’t think I can do a rock concert right now. I’ll go, ‘Hello,’ and that’s it.”

It’s currently unclear when the UK and Ireland leg of Ozzy’s No More Tours 2 tour with Judas Priest will be rearranged for.
