Latest rare and collectable ’90s vinyl in stock, The Sundays, Ocean Colour Scene, REM and more

For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.

While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.

THE SUNDAYS Reading Writing And Arithmetic (1990 UK Rough Trade 10-track vinyl LP – Their perfect-pop debut featuring the stunningly beautiful vocals of Harriet Wheeler, includes the singles Here’s Where The Story Ends, Can’t Be Sure and I Kicked A Boy, housed in the picture sleeve. This copy is in wonderful near mint condition ROUGH148).

OCEAN COLOUR SCENE B-Sides Seasides & Freerides (Rare 1997 UK 16-track double LP compilation, including The Day We Caught The Train [Acoustic] & Day Tripper [Live], gatefold picture sleeve with integral lyric booklet. The sleeve has some lightedgewear and corner scuffing, whilst the vinyl has just a couple of minor surface scuffs MCA60034).

REM Out Of Time (Classic 1991 UK 11-track LP, pressed in Germany for the UK market, including Losing My Religion, Shiny Happy People & Near Wild Heaven, complete with illustrated credits inner, picture sleeve. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear & the vinyl is flawless WX404).
