Musicians traditionally tend to write music for themselves. They use the fire burning inside them to spur creativity and write something that other can connect with, which for most is the only reward they need. Of course, it is always nice when the artist is recognised for their achievements from the industry they are part of.

This mostly comes in the form of being presented an award from the governing bodies such as the BPI, RIAA, ARIA, and so on. Sometimes, these awards make their way into the hands of collectors and the public, and we see no shortage of them here. Measuring approximately 16″ x 16″ this framed, matted & glazed award is presented to the former MD of MCA Records and formed part of his impressive archive – it has impeccable provenance. Still wrapped in its original PVC bag along with the outer packaging carton).

OCEAN COLOUR SCENE North Atlantic Drift (Rare official 2003 UK BPI SILVER award issued to commemorate sales in excess of 60,000 copies of the Sanctuary Records Group album. Features a copy of the CD and sleeve artwork, mounted above a silver engraved dedication plaque with mini Union Jack flag in the top left corner. Measures 16″ x 16″ framed and glazed – a fabulous item to display)

GORILLAZ Clint Eastwood (Official 2001 UK B.P.I. Certified Silver award issued to commemorate single sales in excess of 200,000 copies & presented to EMI Music Publishing. This nicely framed and glazed award measures 16″ x 16″ in size,and features a copy of the Compact Disc next to the single artwork above the authentic, custom engraved dedication plaque. All mounted on a silver background with a blue surround which has a Union ‘Jack’ Flag in the top left corner, in a silver coloured metal frame).
