For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.
While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals.
ZZ TOP Recycler (1990 UK 10-track LP manufactured in Germany for the UK market, the tenth studio album by the American blues rock band including the singles Doubleback, Concrete And Steel & My Head’s In Mississippi, glossy picture sleeve withillustrated inner. The sleeve displays just a little light wear whilst the vinyl shows little evidence of play, a really nice example WX390).
SAXON Forever Free (Rare 1993 UK 10-track vinyl LP, including Hole In The Sky, Iron Wheels & Nighthunter, glossy picture sleeve featuring artwork by Games Workshop. The sleeve displays only a little light wear and the vinyl has one minor cosmetic surface scuffs which looks to have happened during the pressing, overall an excellent example and only the second we have ever seen WARLP10).
MR BIG Lean Into It (1991 German 11-track vinyl LP, the second studio album by the American rock supergroup, including the classic hit single To Be with You; complete with lyric printed inner & hype stickered picture sleeve which also has a vintage price sticker on the front.
