Hip Hop has been a powerful force since its inception in the late ‘70s. From the early pioneers of street music, such as Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow and The Sugarhill Gang, through the jazz and funk worship of A Tribe Called Quest and Digable Planets, or the aggressive rivalry between the East and West coasts of America during the ‘90s. What started out as something small became a movement and a revolution, that continues to be the voice of each generation with the ever shifting political and social tides.
We have a wide range of hip hop and titles in our store right now. Below are some of the highlights, and you can see our full selection on eil.com.
N.W.A. – Efil4zaggin: 1991 US issue 15-track LP for the 4th and final studio album by the Gangsta rap group produced by Dr. Dre & DJ Yella including the singles ‘Appetite For Destruction’ and ‘Alwayz Into Somethin’. Housed in a glossy picture sleeve with the title backwards [Niggaz4life], still in the original open shrink and in superb condition with the vinyl being immaculate
De La Soul – The Grind Date: 2004 UK limited edition 13-track double vinyl LP, their seventh album with guest appearances from Ghostface, Common, M.F. Doom, Sean Paul and more, including the singles Shoomp / Much More, Shopping Bags [She Got From You] and Rock Co.Kane Flow. Complete with the individual picture inners, both the hype-stickered single-pocket picture sleeve and vinyl remain in ‘as new’ condition.
Snoop Dogg – Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told: 1998 UK 21-track vinyl 2-LP set, housed in a single pocket glossy picture sleeve. The sleeve is still in its price-stickered shrinkwrap and the vinyl appears barely played – great copy.
