Here at eil.com we realise not everyone’s pockets are so deep they can stump up the readies for that uber-collectable slab of vinyl, CD boxset, vintage memorabilia etc. With that in mind, we’ve put together this new weekly ‘Top 3’ of some of the more affordable collectables that pass through our doors each week, and no item will be more than £50. Nick Cave – The Firstborn Is Dead: 1985 UK 7-track LP, the classic second album from Cave with the Bad Seeds [the definitive line up of Blixa, Barry Adamson & Mick Harvey] sees the Godfather of Goth paying homage to Elvis as only he can. With just the lightest spot of foxing to the album credits inner, the picture sleeve & vinyl otherwise appear Near Mint.
The Beatles – One: 2000 UK 27-track double LP compilation pressed on Audiophile Quality Heavyweight Vinyl, featuring every #1 achieved by the band in the UK & US charts, complete with four psychedelic art prints, a large fold-out full-colour poster showing various original Beatles 7″ picture sleeves from around the world & full colour illustrated inners, heavy duty gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve shows a light spot of waer along the top edge with some indentation marks yet the vinyl is Near Mint.
Bee Gees – Rare Precious & Beautiful: 1968 UK 12-track compilation vinyl LP featuring early tracks recorded in Australia in 1966 & earlier, front laminated picture sleeve. The sleeve shows light wear, mainly to the reverse, with a small scratchto the front, whilst the vinyl has just a few light signs of play – A wonderful copy!
