Ain’t nothing but a jazz thing here at eil.com this week with a vast array of top jazz rare vinyl and CDs coming through the doors, here’s a few to whet your jazz whistle, see them all in our Jazz collectors store.
JOHN SURMAN – Jazz In Britain ’68-’69: Rare 1972 UK 5-track stereo LP, featuring some magnificent new wave British Jazz from sessions recorded in the late sixties with a ‘supergroup’ also starring Mike Osbourne on Alto, John Taylor on Piano & Kenny Wheeler on Flugelhorn, front laminated picture sleeve. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear, mostly to the unlaminated back & the vinyl remains in excellent condition with little sign of play.
Michael Gibbs – Tanglewood 63: Original 1971 UK 5-track stereo LP on the red & white Deram label, capturing many of the country’s forward thinking jazz musicians at the same time; Kenny Wheeler, Henry Lowther, Harry Beckett, John Surman, Alan Skidmore, Frank Ricotti, Chris Spedding, Gordon Beck & more. The front laminated sleeve has eyepopping artwork which has lost none of its impact, with the laminate appearing lovely. The cover is Excellent with sharp panels & just a tiny unobtrusive paper tear mark to a back corner. The vinyl is Near Mint
Louis Moholo – Tern: Scarce 1983 German 5-track double vinyl LP, recorded live during the ‘Total Music Meeting’ performances on November 3rd & 5th, 1982 in Berlin, gatefold picture sleeve with company catalogue inners. The sleeve shows minimal wear and the vinyl is Near Mint – a knockout copy!
