For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.
While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals
Counting Crows – August And Everything After: Rare 1993 UK issue 11-track vinyl LP, manufactured in Holland for the UK market. The debut studio album by American rock band, including the singles Mr. Jones, Rain King and Round Here; glossy picture sleeve with picture/lyric printed paper inner. The sleeve very little evidence of wear and the vinyl has just the odd light scuff/hairline to indicate play. A wonderful copy of this incredibly hard to find ’90s vinyl pressing
PJ Harvey – Rid Of Me: Rare 1992 UK 14-track vinyl LP, including the singles 50ft Queenie and Man-Size, picture sleeve complete with picture inner. The sleeve shows just some very light discolouration and minimal shelfwear, however, the vinyl is superb and shows minimal evidence of play. Hard to find in any condition!
U2 – Zooropa: Rare 1993 UK 11-track vinyl LP including Lemon, Stay and Numb, picture sleeve complete with original digital graphic illustrated inner and lyric insert. The sleeve shows minimal wear, whilst the vinyl has just light scuffs and a little axial wear leaving it Excellent – a very nice copy indeed!
