This is an incredibly rare 1969 UK press kit for the 9-track Picture Disc LP release, one of the first music picture discs ever released, with diffraction grating thick swirly centre labels that change image as they tilt, complete with the thick transparent PVC sleeve.
Produced by Keith Relf of the Yardbirds, Saturnalia made their 1969 debut with this beautiful picture disc. An excellent product of the Seventies British underground.
This copy also includes a twenty eight page booklet packed with photos, personnel info & biography information with a superb psychedelic cover & a ticket voucher for their Rainbow Theatre launch concert.
As if this wasn’t enough [and most complete copies usually stop there], this copy also includes three sheets of information on Matrix Records, how the release was put together and the fact that it was limited to just 20,000 copies. It also gives details of a pending black vinyl release and a single to be taken from the album.
There are also two 10″ x 8″ black & white promotional photographs – one of the band and one of Aletta wearing beads and not much else, another same size photocard showing both sides of the picture disc and a one page biography of the band.
As you can imagine, the LP itself is now almost impossible to find complete, so to be able to offer a full press kit like this is something that we are unlikely to ever see again.
A fantastic item in pristine condition, a real work of art and not least of all, now extremely hard to find like this
