Released in in 1978, The Murder of Liddle Towers was the debut single from British punk legends, Angelic Upstarts.
It was self released by the band, with between 500 and 1000 copies rumoured to have been pressed. It came in a fragile ‘blackmail text’ monochrome title sleeve, which is just as rare as the record itself, and featured Police Oppression as the b-side.
Finding a copy of this record is extremely difficult. It was reissued several years later with some notable differences by Rough Trade, but the original is a piece of punk history that arrived just after the birth of the genre.
