Liam G, Florence + the M, Richard A and more to open for band this summer.
Let’s Spend the Night Together…
As if seeing The Rolling Stones isn’t a big enough spectacle, the band have now announced a host of superstar guests who will open up for them on the UK leg of their No Filter tour this summer.
Glastonbury headliner from 2015, Florence and the Machine will support “one of our biggest influences” at one of their London Stadium gigs next month, while rock ‘n’ roll star Liam Gallagher will – for once – happily play second fiddle to “the best rock n roll band EVER” at another gig in the capital a few days earlier.
Last year, in an interview with GQ magazine the former Oasis frontman said of his Stones counterpart’s dance moves; “Fair play to ol’ dinosaur hips, but I’m not that man. I’m anti-entertainment. Poor sod, he’s got to dance until he’s 108.”
Liam’s good pal Richard Ashcroft (of Verve fame) will get things started in Manchester and Edinburgh and further support on the tour will come from the likes of Elbow, The Specials and The Vaccines
James Bay can barely believe that he’ll be warming up the Twickenham crowds for Mick, Keef and the lads.
“Is this for real?” he wrote.
Turns out sometimes you can get what you want, after all.
