Gil Evans & Steve Lacy – European Tour July 1978: Limited Edition 1978 UK-only private press two-part LP, with custom stamped white labels. Contains rare live recordings & improvisations on Billy Harper’s ‘Thoroughbred’ & Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Stone Free’, with backing from Arthur Blythe, Lew Soloff, Peter Levin, Earl McIntyre, Lew Soloff, Don Pate & Sue Evans. This super rarity was limited to just <b>200 copies</b> & originates from the private collection of a former staff member for Dobells record shop in Charing Cross. Complete with a plain white stamped card sleeve & information sheet, the vinyl is Excellent to Near Mint with little sign of play.
Michael Naura – Vanessa: Rare 1975 German green ECM label 6-track vinyl LP, the debut release from the German jazz pianist, journalist and producer of the NDR Jazzworkshop, housed in the fully laminated picture sleeve complete with the rare period Virgin ‘two virgins’ silver sticker. There is a little laminate wear to the opening edge however, the vinyl remains in stunning ‘as new’ condition.
John Coltrane – Live At Birdland: 1965 Spanish first press 5-track deep groove stereo LP, on a black & red label with four ‘Impulse!’ logos around the rim & the ‘Hispavox’ logo at the top. Documents a powerhouse performance of Trane at Birdlandin October & November of ’63 alongside McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison & Elvin Jones, opening with the ten minute marvel, Afro-Blue. The gatefold sleeve is heavyweight, pasted, laminated & US manufactured with an ‘Estereo’ sticker on the front for the Spanish market. The cover is Excellent with no splits & minimal signs of wear. The vinyl grades EX/EX- with just the very lightest few paper scuffs not affecting play.
