Miles Davis avec John Coltrane – Relaxin’ With Miles: Beautiful 1958 French first press 6-track deep groove mono vinyl LP on the Barclay label, with ‘RVG’ [Rudy Van Gelder] machine stamped in the run-offs & a slight raised edge before the run-ins, housed in a stunning frontlaminated flipback sleeve with a unique line drawing of Miles from Jean-Claude Bernath photography.
Byron Morris & Unity – Vibrations, Themes & Serenade: Private Spiritual Jazz 1978 US first press 6-track LP, including a number of Scat workouts with Jay Clayton on vocals & an inventive reading of Mingus’ ‘Goodbye Pork Pie Hat’, Byron Morris studied with Ornette Coleman & Rahsaan Roland Kirk so expect a deep spiritual journey on this rare longplayer. This copy originates from the private collection of a former staff member for Dobells record shop in Charing Cross, & these originalUS first pressings can be distinguished via the two ridges on the black & yellow labels found here. The pasted picture sleeve is Near Mint with no deletion cuts & still in the original open shrink, complete with the illustrated/biographical insert.
John Surman – How Many Clouds Can You See?: Rip-Roaring British Jazz 1970 UK first press 5-track stereo LP with matrices ending ‘1W’, the highly admired second album by English saxophonist John Surman, also starring Harry Beckett, Alan Skidmore,Barre Phillips & Tony Oxley & released on the collectable Deram label. The front laminated picture sleeve has the stereo/mono indicator hole on the back & comes complete with the original blue-for-stereo inner. The sleeve is Excellent with just alittle light edge & ring wear. The vinyl grades VG+ with a number of light paper hairline scuffs & spindle marks which have little to no effect on play.
