“Folk is a four-letter word”: Huge Pentangle 7CD boxset announced

Out in September is this huge 7CD boxset retrospective charting the years between 1968 and 1972 from the ground-breaking UK folk act Pentangle. Formed in 1967 the band had an embarrassment of riches (musically speaking), featuring not one but two whizz-kid guitarists in the shape of Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, bassist Danny Thompson, drummer Terry Cox and lest we forget the vocal prowess of Jacqui McShee. Each of the albums will be expanded to include bonus material, out-takes, live tracks – a whopping 22 of which are previously unreleased. If you can’t wait until then, or want to explore the original pressings, follow this link to see what goodies eil.com currently have in stock.
