Record Collecting Stories: blog.eil.com reader Derek shares pics of his record collection………..

This lovely looking set-up belongs to Derek in Scotland who tells us, “I’m enjoying looking at other folk’s record collections and their stereo layouts, here’s mine”

So what’s it all about? Derek says that he used to have (warning, technical bit coming up) 3 x SL1210’s (do we detect some 3-deck mixing from back in the day?) an Allen & Heath Xone:64 mixer and an Alesis amp and speakers connecting them together”, that’s all changed in recent years with the purchase of some Kenwood separates!

I spy an Aphex Twin (AFX) sticker, Charlatans and even rave classic Zero-B tucked away at the bottom there!

What else is in the collection? “A vast retrospective collection of Indie music from the first part of the 90’s and Metal from before that, then I latched on the D.J. sub-culture of hunting down the next ‘Big Thing’ on 12” and solely focused on that. Of late my aim is to replace and reinstate the old releases I used to have on cassette but this time on a different format and having amassed most of the records of my youth I’ll easily move onto something else”

Very nice indeed, If you’d like to show us some pics of your record collection, please email tim.card@eil.com and we’ll share with our readers…..
