JOHN COLTRANE Golden Album: Limited Edition 1967 Japanese-only 4-track stereo LP compilation, housed in a unique silk laminated gatefold sleeve with obi-strip. The cover shows very little of its age (a spot of mild foxing inside & a tiny 1cm split in the obi] & the vinyl is near mint. This collector’s edition comes complete with a one-sided promotional blue 7″ flexi-disc (P-91) with custom ‘Not For Sale’ label print. The flexi-disc contains an interview recorded onJuly 18, 1966 at Tokyo Prince Hotel for TBS Television Inc, & is housed in a unique flipback picture sleeve. Both the sleeve & flexi appear near mint, more info here CANNONBALL ADDERLEY This Here : 1983 Japanese-only 5-track vinyl LP of rarities recorded in concert at Kosei-Nenkin and Sankei Hall, Tokyo in July 1963, and at the Jazz Workshop, San Francisco in September ’62, unique picture sleeve with Japanese insert & obi-strip. The back of the sleeve has just a small area of foxing and the vinyl is in near mint condition, more info here ART PEPPER Live At The Village Vanguard: Fantastic 1980 Japanese 11-track deluxe triple vinyl LP box set recorded live in New York in July 1977, featuring George Cables on piano, George Mraz on bass and Elvin Jones drums, housed in a 12″ square picture box complete with illustrated 8-page booklet & wide obi-strip. Despite a little foxing on the inside of the box, all contents remain in near mint condition, more info here HANK MOBLEY / AL COHN / ZOOT SIMS / JOHN COLTRANE Tenor Conclave : Extremely rare 1957 first US issue 4-track deep groove mono vinyl LP, on a black & yellow Prestige label with ‘W. 50th St. NYC’ address & ‘RVG’ [Rudy Van Gelder] engraved in the run-outs. Although the music has subsequently been reissued in each artist’s back catalogue, this was the original “leaderless” Prestige All-Stars date, credited to just ‘Four Tenor Saxes’, & is without doubt the best sounding edition that moneycan buy. This set includes a book ‘Ode To A High Flying Bird’ written & drawn by Charlie Watts plus a 10″ vinyl LP and a 12″ x 9½” picture of Charlie Parker playing his saxophone. All housed in a deluxe 12″ x 12″ square picture box. The vinyl has two notable hairline marks on side 2; the cover of the book has shows some foxing, but the inner pages are not affected; the box itself looks near as new, more info here
