It’s not often we blow our own trumpet but we’ve had more rare records in the last week than we can poke a stick at. Some of them aren’t even hitting the site since they’re being snapped up by customers wants lists. It’s fair to say there’s an air of delirious excitement in the product team office.
You can find the very top pieces in our Blue Chip Store here [if they haven’t left the building already] but don’t worry, there’s many more to come…
Today we’re showcasing top pieces by Madonna:-
This Is… Nothin’ But Madonna – Rare Late 1980’s Japanese Warner 13-track promotional-only vinyl LP sampler including ‘Material Girl’, ‘True Blue’, ‘Like A Virgin’, ‘Holiday’ & ‘Borderline’. Housed in a unique ‘Sample’ custom picture sleeve with 3 circular images of Madonna taken from the first three albums, the back has biography text and tracklisting. The sleeve on this copy has only minimal storage wear with the vinyl in immaculate condition! PS-311 – click here for more
Borderline – Rare 1986 UK original UNCUT picture disc of the familiar young 1980’s Madonna shape! Also includes Physical Attraction. This superb rarity has not been cut to the finished shape but remains as a 12″ disc with clear vinyl surrounding the central image. Uncut picture discs are generally used as ‘test pressings’ – a few are always made to check the image alignment and print quality before the final run is cut to the desired shape. These rarely appear for sale and this is only the second example we have had in over twenty years! W9260P – see more here
Holiday – Super-rare 1983 South African 3-track 12″ vinyl single featuring the LP & Edit Version, also including I Know It, with a unique picture sleeve featuring artwork different to any other country and with the Interpak logo on the reverse. The sleeve also has been stamped ‘Music Radio 702 Record Library’ and dated ’17 Mar 1986′ on the back and with a small cataloguing sticker on the front & one of the labels. I hear you asking, what about the condition, well the sleeve hasjust a little ringwear and light edgewear but most importantly no splits or rips, and the vinyl has just a few light hairlines but surprisingly only light signs of play, which considering where this is from is pretty impressive. The first example we have ever seen, a must have for any collection WBM53 – see more here
