In today’s Guardian three music journalists answer the tricky question ‘was 1966 pop music’s greatest year?’ by citing the Beach Boys (Pet Sounds), The Beatles (Revolver) and Bob Dylan’s (Blonde On Blonde) albums as proof positive, they’re not the only ones either, acclaimed music journalist and cultural commentator Jon Savage has recently written an entire book ‘1966’ that argues the very same thing….so is it/was it?
