The Pink Floyd frontman will play London in September, around the time his new album is due for release
David Gilmour, the frontman of Pink Floyd, is to release his first solo album in nine years and take it on an eight-date European tour.
Gilmour will tour the as-yet unnamed album to five countries, finishing with three UK dates at the Royal Albert Hall from September 23.
Tickets to the tour, which starts at the Arena Pula in Croatia on September 12, go on sale at 10am on Friday March 6.
Gilmour last performed live in December last year, with Bombay Bicycle Club. In October, he told Rolling Stone that he was working on the new record, his first since 2006’s On an Island. “It’s coming along very well,” he said. “There are some sketches that aren’t finished, and some of them will be started again. There’s a few months’ work in it yet. I’m hoping to get it out this following year.”
Pink Floyd’s farewell album, The Endless River, was released in 2014.
