US band are latest headliners of British Summertime Festival and will play alongside Beck and Future Islands
The US band will make their UK live return with they headline Hyde Park on June 18. The gig will be the band’s first gig in Britain in four years and is their only UK festival date of 2015.
Announcing the news to fans, The Strokes wrote: “It may seem a ways away but summer’s still happening this year and we wanted to let you know The Strokes are planning another trip for another show, this time in London’s Hyde Park on Thursday June 18. And if that wasn’t enough for us to be all excited about we’re also stoked to tell you that Beck and Future Islands will be joining us on the day, which is pretty-freaking-awesome.”
In addition to Grammy Award winner Beck and Future Islands, support on the day will also come from Temples, Public Service Broadcasting, The Wytches, Hinds, Gengahr, Yak and Kieran Leonard.
The Strokes are the latest act confirmed for British Summer Time Hyde Park. The Who will perform alongside Paul Weller, Kaiser Chiefs and Johnny Marr on June 26, with Taylor Swift set to play the festival one day later on June 27. Kylie Minogue tops a bill featuring Chic and Grace Jones on June 21 while Blur headline on June 20.
