From Planet Rock.
To mark the 30th anniversary of their second headline performance at Monsters of Rock in 1990, Whitesnake will be streaming their ‘Live At Donington’ concert film on YouTube this coming Tuesday (18th August).
Preceding the broadcast, there will be an on-camera pre-show Q&A with the 1990 line-up of Whitesnake – David Coverdale, Steve Vai, Adrian Vandenberg, Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge.
The Q&A stream will go live on Tuesday 18th August at 7.30pm UK time on Whitesnake’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. The concert broadcast will then start at 8.30pm – the exact time they started their headline show on the hallowed turf of Donington Park 30 years ago.
Whitesnake lynchpin David Coverdale enthuses: “I can’t wait to be reunited with Steve, Adrian, Rudy and Tommy, even if it’s just for this online moment. “
“They were without a doubt one of the best, most explosive, exciting musical collectives I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing a global stage with…super people, super musicians…an absolute SUPERGROUP!!!”
Whitesnake headlined a Monsters of Rock line-up on 18th August 1990 that also featured Aerosmith, Poison, The Quireboys and Thunder.
Whitesnake – Monsters of Rock reunion
Alongside the Q&A and concert broadcast, Whitesnake will release the ‘Live at Donington 1990 (30th anniversary complete edition)’ album digitally on the very same day.
Originally released on CD and DVD formats in June 2011, ‘Live at Donington 1990’ has been newly remastered for the new digital release.
Back in March, Whitesnake cancelled their entire 2020 UK, European and US tour due to David Coverdale needing surgery for a bilateral inguinal hernia.
The co-headlining UK leg in May and June with Foreigner was due to call in at London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester.
The ‘Live at Donington 1990’ track-listing is as follows:
