Roy Harper is something of an English music enigma, sure he could pick a mean guitar like his early ‘60s British folk contemporaries Bert Jansch, Davey Graham and Anne Briggs. However, a love of jazz, the beat poets, modern classical and earthy US blues and folk would always set him apart from it. Over the years he would prove to be an enduring influence on Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, Pete Townshend, Kate Bush, Pink Floyd whilst more recently he’s found a new audience via modern US alternative folkies Joanna Newsome and Fleet Foxes.
Throw in some deeply personal and political lyrics and you’ve got a major talent that’s always managed to operate outside the mainstream and yet somehow be a part of it…….So here at eil Towers we’d like to say “Hat’s off to Roy Harper!” by showing off our current Top 3 Roy Harper items in stock – to see the full collection click here
