MILFORD GRAVES AND DON PULLEN In Concert At Yale University (Insanely rare original 1966 US two-part limited edition private press vinyl LP on the white deep groove PGI label from the drummer Milford Graves [New York Art Quartet / Albert Ayler / Sonny Sharrock] and pianist Don Pullen [Albert Ayler / Charles Mingus] – The first volume in the two-volume series and one of America’s first DIY Free Jazz records. It’s a seminal work of free-jazz improvisation, highly praised by jazz bible Downbeat Magazine and included in Thurston Moore’s recent “top ten from the jazz underground” chart. Housed in a unique sleeve, all copies were hand painted by either Milford or Don – and no two are the same. If that’s not rare enough, this copy comes complete with the typewritten A4 insert! PG-286)
