Listen to Steven Wilson’s new mix of Gentle Giant’s Interview

From Loudersound.

Steven Wilson has remixed Gentle Giant‘s 1976 album Interview, and the title track  has been released as a new single and video.

The album is being reissued through Chrysalis Records on June 16 on 180g vinyl, while the CD/Blu-ray version includes Wilson’s Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound remixes, as well as the original 1976 stereo mix, the original 1976 quad mix, instrumental mixes, and custom visuals for each track.

Interview was the band’s eighth studio album and was originally released on April 23 1976. The album was a concept album conceived as a radio interview. Three of the tracks integrate brief “interview” sections which were staged in the studio, featuring then Sounds writer Phil Sutcliffe.

A special limited sky blue coloured vinyl version of the Steven Wilson remix will also be available.

Co-founding bassist and composer Ray Shulman sadly passed away earlier this month aged 73. Brother Derek said, “I was with him until the end as he bravely battled a long illness. At least I know he is now at peace.” A full tribute to Ray will appear in the next issue of Prog Magazine.

GENTLE GIANT Civilian (Scarce 1980 French 8-track vinyl LP. The final album by one of Britain's finest progressive rock acts that ever was, cut in LA with former Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick. There are hidden gems here in the form of Convenience, All Through The Night and I Am A Camera - truly rocking! Picture sleeve complete with illustrated lyric inner which has the lyrics translated in French. The sleeve is Excellent with just a few light marks and a little edgewear and the inner shows some light foxing and age discolouration. The vinyl shows minimal signs of play. - A fantastic top of the line copy! CHR1285)

  • Gentle Giant - In A Glass House - EX - UK - vinyl LP - £125.00, $162.50, €150.00 (Back In Stock) (arrived 13-Jun-2024 13:59)

GENTLE GIANT In A Glass House (1973 UK first press 6-track LP on the black & silver WWA label [this album did not come out on the Vertigo swirl label in the UK], for many their finest record. Comes housed in a striking die-cut textured sleeve complete with PVC window, art print card insert and lyric inner. Because the textured sleeves were never laminated they were prone to storage wear with age, however this one has suffered only minor shelfwear with alight corner creasing and is overall in fantastic condition for its style and age. The vinyl too is nice & clean & shows only minor cosmetic evidence of light play, a great copy of this Prog rock gem! WWA002)

  • Gentle Giant - Free Hand - 1st + Insert - EX - UK - vinyl LP - £35.00, $45.50, €42.00 (New Item) (arrived 15-Apr-2024 10:28)

GENTLE GIANT Free Hand (1975 UK green Chrysalis label 7-track vinyl LP, the highest charting album in the US from the UK prog rockers and is regarded by many as the band's peak, picture sleeve. The sleeve has a little shelfwear to the edges and comes complete with the illustrated lyric card insert, whilst the vinyl remains in excellent condition with little sign of play CHR1093)

  • Gentle Giant - Three Friends - 2nd - VG - Pressing Fault - UK - vinyl LP - £150.00, $195.00, €180.00 (New Item) (arrived 15-Apr-2024 10:46)

GENTLE GIANT Three Friends(Very rare circa 1973 UK 6-track LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label with second variant 'Made In England' label text, matt gatefold picture sleeve with die-cut poly-lined swirl inner. The sleeve shows light signs of shelfwear whilst the label on side 1 has a manufaturing misalignment where a section of the paper encroaches onto the run-out area(which therefore dosn't affect play)The vinyl shows some cosmetic scuffs/mottling but plays through without any problems, otherwise really nice)

  • Gentle Giant - Acquiring The Taste - 1st - VG - UK - vinyl LP - £195.00, $253.50, €234.00 (New Item) (arrived 15-Apr-2024 10:52)

GENTLE GIANT Acquiring The Taste (1971 first UK issue 8-track vinyl LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label. This album took the band into more experimental & darker areas but is still their own recognisable sound - a rich blend of hard rock & orchestration - with hints of influences from King Crimson & Van Der Graaf Generator, housed in a gatefold picture sleeve with the poly lined 'swirl' die-cut inner. The sleeve displays some minor general wear with some edge & corner scuffing, and hassome strange blank ink marks on the back, but still pretty damn good considering it was never laminated. The labels have a few light spindle marks and light signs of age, whilst the vinyl has only a few light signs of play. Overall a Very Good example, making an ideal play copy)
