Magma announce BBC 1974 release

French zeuhl legends Magma have announced the release of BBC London 1974, a special release for Record Store Day Black Friday.

The new limited edition, numbered two-disc release comes on red, 180g vinyl, recorded at the BBC studios on March 14 1974, and features two Magma classics, Theusz Hamtaahk and Khontarkosz, both recorded as works in progress by a line-up that featured Christian Vander (drums), Jannick Top (bass), Klaus Blasquiz (vocals, percussion), Clause Olmod (guitar), Michel Graillier (Fender Rhodes, keyboards) and Gerard Bikialo (Fender Rhodes).

Magma will play two UK shows in 2022 in Manchester and London.

    MAGMA Üdü Wüdü (1976 US 6-track LP by Christian Vander, Klaus Blasquiz & co, performed in their own 'Zeul' style of deadly Symphonic Chamber Prog & sung in a made-up 'Kobaian' language! Includes 'Zombies' & the massive bass heavy future-Prog of the album closer, 'De Futura'. This is perhaps their darkest but grooviest work. The picture sleeve has a deletion saw-cut & remains in Excellent condition with minimal shelf wear. The vinyl is clean & grades Excellent with merely the odd faint paper hairline not affecting play TOM6001)

    MAGMA Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh (Original 1973 UK A&M tan label 7-track LP by Christian Vander, Klaus Blasquiz & co, performed in their own 'Zeul' style of symphonic chamber prog and sung in a made-up 'Kobaian' language! Blinding stuff, gatefold matt sleeve showing little wear complete with lyric insert. The sleeve has some age related storage wear, the labels display a few light spindle marks to indicate light use while the discs shows few signs of play, great copy AMLH64397)
