For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.
While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals.
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – Into The Great Wide Open: Rare 1991 German 12-track LP, complete with illustrated lyric inner, picture sleeve. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with a bit of corner scuffing & the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play.
Primal Scream – Screamadelica: 1991 UK 11-track double LP including Movin’ On Up and Loaded, gatefold picture sleeve with title sticker on the front. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with a bit of edge scuffing and the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play.
Depeche Mode – Songs Of Faith & Devotion: 1993 UK 10-track vinyl LP, the eighth studio album by English electronic band, including the singles I Feel You, Walking in My Shoes, Condemnation and In Your Room, with illustrated lyric inner and picture sleeve. The sleeve displays light wear, mostly to the edges and the vinyl has just a few light paper scuffs. A nice excellent example of this increasingly hard to find 90s pressing.
