WILHELM BACKHAUS with THE VIENNA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA conducted by HANS SCHMIDT-ISSERSTEDT Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 4 In G Major – 1958 UK first issue three movement STEREO LP on the ‘deep groove’ wide band ‘Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound’ label with ‘Original Recording By’ perimeter text at ten o’clock, front laminated picture sleeve. The flimsy sleeve on this astonishing copy shows just a little light shelfwear with a couple of areas of very mild age yellowingon the unlaminated back & the vinyl remains near ‘as new’ and shows almost no sign of play. SHAKTI Shakti with John McLaughlin – 1976 Japanese 3-track LP, that saw McLaughlin team up with master Indian musicians L. Shankar, R. Raghavan, T.S. Vinayakaram & Zakir Hussain, to produce a unique blend of ‘East meets West’. The result retains the sensibility & soul of tradition yet also broke pioneering new ground, pasted picture sleeve with Japanese insert & obi.
