JOHN COLTRANE Soultrane (Amazing 1958 US first press 5-track deep groove mono vinyl LP, on the original Prestige ‘fireworks’ label with ‘Bergenfield’ address both sides & ‘RVG’ stamp in both run-outs. Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, the album showcases Coltrane’s newfound ‘sheets of sound’ approach to magnificent effect, with Red Garland on Piano, Paul Chambers on Bass & Art Taylor on Drums, heavyweight pasted picture sleeve. TUBBY HAYES QUINTET …After Lights Out (Impossibly rare 1957 UK 6-track mono vinyl LP, on the highly collectable Tempo label, recorded in London on July 17th, 1956 with Dickie Hawdon, Harry South, Pete Elderfield and Bill Eyden – a crucial piece of British jazz history, fully laminated flipback picture sleeve TAP6 Please see ‘more info’ for condition details…).

Jackie McLean Destination... Out - 1st - NY vinyl LP album (LP record) US JM7LPDE728630

JACKIE MCLEAN Destination… Out (Super Rare 1964 US first press 4-track MONO LP on the original ‘New York’ address Blue Note label, with ‘Van Gelder’ stamp & the all important ‘ear’ etching both sides of the run-out. Features Jackie alongside Grachan Moncur III, Bobby Hutcherson, Larry Ridley & Roy Haynes, all performing some of the finest avant-garde bop of the era. Comes housed in the original heavy duty pasted picture sleeve with ‘West 61st’ address & a vintage UK tax import sticker on the back. This is an outstanding one previous owner example. The panels are nice & clean with no seam splits or writing. All print is clearly legible including along the spine. On close inspection, there is just the very lightest evidence of the occasional tiny paper scuff. The cover is Excellent & the heavyweight vinyl too appears Excellent with an incredible deep sheen both sides & barely any play. Recommended BLP4165).
